Sons Of Nihil (S.O.N.) is a band with an original vision of the Nordic art of black metal based in Quebec City , Canada . Preserving some Scandinavian black metal, death metal, progressive rock and classical music roots, S.O.N. gives birth to an innovative and sophisticated mix of raw power, romance and technical progressive riffs. Each member of S.O.N. is involved in the writing (lyrics and/or music) and arranging processes, enriching the band's musical spirit with a wide range of creative resources.

The "Sons Of Nihil" (independent) debut album (2000) included ten original and diversified songs (written sporadically between 1997 and 2000) in a philo-scientific trilogy concept. The graphic and audio productions were of very good quality despite a modest budget and short recording/mixing sessions.

Throughout the years, S.O.N. has performed live in the Province of Quebec on numerous occasions. A stage experience highlighted notably by a Cannibal Corpse opening act (2002) in Montreal . Members Olivier (drums) and Nicolas (guitars) had also a previous experience with a death metal band called Decerebration, who performed with bands like Suffocation, Dying Foetus and Cannibal Corpse during the 90's.

The upcoming album, "Unfolding Destiny" will be released by the beginning of 2005 with a label to be announced. From this new album on, Sons Of Nihil present a new profile with Alexandre (keyboards) and Mathieu (lead vocals) joining the line-up. These newborn "sons" add new foundations and textures to the band that are reflected in this next album. Expect "Unfolding Destiny" to offer a vast spectrum of emotional dimensions elaborated on the foundation of a sophisticated concept, without compromising aggressiveness.
